Dancing for joy.
Dandelion and Nanette, two freckle-faced cockapoos, were Callie’s companions growing up in Seattle, but it didn’t occur to her that she could make her love of dogs a career when she graduated from high school and left home. She followed a career in fashion, attending a makeup academy in Los Angeles and obtaining her aesthetician and cosmetology licenses in Seattle, after which she worked in a salon downtown Seattle. When she found herself blocking out her afternoon hours every day so she could take the salon owner’s goofy lab, Parker, to Discovery Park for a couple of hours, she realized she needed to turn her passion for dogs into her primary profession.
So, in 2011 she took a job with Rocketdog, helping them grow their new dog walking business to an established, successful full service dog business. After several years, she switched to Jake N’ Friends, taking a pack of dogs to Seattle off-leash parks every day for fun in the rain and romps in Lake Washington.
Those jobs gave Callie more than enough experience and the confidence to launch her own business, which she did last year. She named it The Disco Dogs because she and the pups ‘love to party at the park.’ She doesn’t just throw a ball or walk around. She’s been known to go swimming in Lake Washington with them! In addition to taking dogs on a pack walk to an off-leash park, Callie will walk your dog or babysit when you’re away for the day or overnight. Most importantly, she’ll treat your dog like her own dog. She’s built her business on values-- kindness, dependability, love, and compassionate care because pet lovers need peace of mind for the times they’re attending to life’s other commitments. The Disco Dogs will keep your dogs dancing for joy in your absence.
Oh, and by the way—need a hair or skin consultation? Callie’s got you covered!
